• To utilize feedstocks, other than corn, that are primarily available as a byproduct of other industries
• To build cellulosic ethanol biorefineries in areas where feedstock is plentiful and inexpensive
• To be a leader in the emerging cellulosic ethanol industry

in order to;

• Achieve high rate of return on investment
• Provide energy security to the United States by reducing our dependence on foreign oil
• Significantly decrease green house gasses
• Improve the local economy by putting forest workers back to work and provide high paying jobs in a troubled economy
• Promote sustainable forest management
• Reclaim unusable land (e.g. abandoned strip mines, lowgrade farmlands) for production of renewable feedstock
• Reduce transportation costs by locating in close proximity to feedstock and refineries
